Providing care and education for children of working parents

Latchkey is an elementary school-age childcare program that provides care and education for children of working parents. This program is designed to be a link between the home and the school. Certified, qualified and experienced childcare providers supervise, teach and interact with children to ensure that they are cared for, supervised, exposed to many learning activities, allowed to complete homework and share enjoyment in a relaxed and carefully designed developmentally appropriate environment.

Program Goals

The goals of the CCS Latchkey Program are as follows:

  • Provide quality before and after school care and education.
  • Promote the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of each child.
  • Provide a program that is developmentally appropriate.
  • Foster a positive self-image in each child.
  • Establish good rapport with parents, children and building administrators.

Weekly Fees

Morning Fee: $70.00 per week per child
Afternoon Fee: $75.00 per week per child
Morning & Afternoon Fee: $90.00 per week per child.

*Fees are pending Columbus City Schools Board Approval

Latchkey fees are payable online through the links below. Any check or money order payments must be paid at 270 E. State St. between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Cash payments are not accepted.

Hours Offered

  • 7:00 - 9:00 a.m.
  • 3:30 - 6:00 p.m.
